The mall is really big. There are 800 plus stores and places to get things done, and lots of places to eat and have fun. You can stay at the Fantasyland Hotel, play at Galaxyland, watch movies, enjoy comedy shows with friends, and even watch the Oilers practice at the skating rink. Our family especially loved playing mini golf there. Plus, there’s a dinner theater, casino, and much more to do!

Fort Edmonton Park – Step Back in Time

You can visit many older buildings at Fort Edmonton Park. Kids can enjoy pony rides and wagon rides here. There are lots of fun activities for families, like going on the midway rides. When you arrive, it’s nice to take the train. It’s a pleasant ride and starts you off at a good spot to begin your walk through the park.

High-Level Bridge Streetcar

Finding the funicular isn’t super easy because there aren’t clear signs. Basically, it’s behind the Fairmont MacDonald hotel. But once you find it, the funicular is really cool! It starts downtown and takes you down to the river valley. You’ll see the river from lots of different angles as you ride down and walk around. It’s a neat experience!

After you get to the river valley level, there are trails you can walk on. If you turn left, you’ll go to Louise McKinney Riverfront Park. If you turn right, you’ll cross the Low Level bridge. Then, you can keep walking and take another Pedestrian bridge across the street to get to the Muttart Conservatory.

Edmonton City Hall Plaza

Cool off in the fountains outside Edmonton City Hall during summer, offering a wading pool for children. In winter, enjoy skating on the plaza. A community gathering space with amenities like changing rooms and bathrooms.

This park covers a big area of 12.9 hectares, with lots of green space and walking paths. There are plenty of benches where you can take a break and enjoy the view of the river. It’s a nice place to relax!
